What's Happening in Sufferlandria This Season
It's that time: That magical time of year when turbo trainers are dusted off, buckets are readied, and shouts of IWBMATTKYT ring through the air as hordes of eager Sufferlandrians head to their paincaves to get down to the business of getting stronger, faster, and tougher.
This indoor season you don't have to train aimlessly. The Minions have a full schedule of events and challenges designed to take you all the way to the end of March and help you crush your goals. We have it all mapped out for you. All you have to do is Suffer.
November 12-18, 2018: The Strava Rider Type Challenge
Join your fellow Sufferlandrians as we take on the Full Frontal fitness test. Get your full 4DP profile, find out your Rider Type, and start training with the most effective, personalised workouts available. Start the 7-day Full Frontal Prep Plan on November 12 and get ready to deliver a performance worthy of a legend on November 18. Post your results to Strava and change your Strava profile picture to your Rider Type icon for the chance to win some amazing prizes, including a year of Strava Summit, a year of The Sufferfest, and a Kinetic Road Machine Control bundle.
November 19, 2018 to February 1, 2019: The Tour of Sufferlandria Prep Training Plans
Getting your 4DP profile and Rider Type is just the beginning. Full Frontal will also identify that area of your fitness that needs the most improvement (Sprinting, Sustained Efforts, VO2 Efforts, or Repeated Efforts).
The coaches at The Sufferfest Sports Science Division have created a suite of training plans tailored to your 4DP profile that will get you ready to tackle the 2019 Tour of Sufferlandria. Plans start on November 19 and include yoga, mental toughness, and strength training to build you into the most complete, badass cyclist possible.
February 2-10, 2019: The Tour of Sufferlandria
The Tour of Sufferlandria is the Greatest Grand Tour of a Mythical Nation in the world. Nine straight days of Sufferfest videos to benefit the Davis Phinney Foundation and their work to improve the lives of those affected by Parkinson's Disease. Over the last several years, we've raised more than $600,000 for the DPF.
Register for the Tour by making at least a $10 USD donation to the Davis Phinney Foundation. For every $10 USD you donate, you earn one chance in our prize pool (so if you donate, say, $100, you earn 10 chances in our prize pool). Even better: Start a fundraising page and ask your friends to donate to your cause. Each $10 you raise also earns you a chance to win.
February 24, 2019: Post-Tour of Sufferlandria Full Frontal
After methodically building your fitness and dominating the Tour of Sufferlandria, it's time to see how much you've improved across your 4DP metrics. Unlike simple FTP tests that only give you one number, Full Frontal allows you to see changes in specific aspects of your fitness. If you were using one of our 4DP-optimised training plans, you're likely to see big gains in your Primary Weakness. You may have even transformed yourself into a completely different type of rider. Prepare to surprise yourself.
March 24, 2019: Global Knighthood Day
King Arthur had the Round Table. Prince had The Revolution. We have the Knights of Sufferlandria.
All Sufferlandrians know how to take punishment. It’s in our nature. But there are some among us who have elevated the ideal of Suffering in the cause of HONOUR, GLORY and VICTORY to an art form.Yes, there are Sufferlandrians. And then there are Knights of Sufferlandria. To be awarded the highest honour, one must simply (*cough*) do 10 Sufferfest videos, back-to-back.
Join us March 24, 2019 as Sufferlandrians around the world undertake one of the most epic endurance challenges and storm the castle to join the hallowed ranks of the Knights of Sufferlandria.
