Mapping FTP to RPE and HR Zones

Our videos tell you how hard to work based on a "Recommended Perceived Exertion" scale. But how exactly should you feel when you're at, say, 7 out of 10? And if you know your Functional Threshold Power or Heart Rate Zones, how do those numbers translate to RPE? Together with the expert minds at Dig Deep Coaching, we've created a great little worksheet that you can use to get all the answers you need to be more, shall we say, precise in your Suffering.

This worksheet forms the basis for all of our 10 week training plans. Just download it, print it out, and fill it in. If you don't know your FTP, you can still use the RPE descriptions to help guide your effort during the videos.

This chart is based on the original work of Dr. Andrew Coggan. His pioneering ideas have set the foundation for all FTP based training today. To get all the science behind power based training and mapping to HR and RPE, read his original post here >>
